Welcome to EnergyNEST where innovation meets sustainability. Our hybrid vertical axis wind turbine (VAWT) and solar PV solution are light steel frame construction kits designed for buildings with roofs unsuitable for conventional Solar PV installations due to obstacles. Offers a groundbreaking approach to clean energy generation in urban environments and delivers from 5-8 times the energy from the same footprint of standalone solar.

Key Benefits:

  1. Maximized Efficiency: Harness both wind and solar power to ensure continuous energy generation, even in challenging urban landscapes.

  2. Space Optimization: Utilize unused rooftop space effectively, transforming obstacles into opportunities for sustainable energy production.

  3. Seamless Integration: Our lightweight steel frame nest seamlessly integrates with existing buildings, minimizing visual impact while maximizing performance.

  4. Reliability: Built to withstand diverse weather conditions and urban environments, our hybrid system offers reliable, long-term energy solutions.

How It Works:

Our EnergyNEST hybrid system combines the vertical axis wind turbine's omnidirectional wind capture with solar panels' efficient sunlight conversion, incorporated in a lightweight steel frame structure. This synergy ensures optimal energy production, even in urban environments with obstacles.

Solar roof design: more than 100% of roof area utilized

The top of EnergyNEST has an overhang relative to the roof surface

of the building. Thus, we increase the roof area. In addition, because

of the nest design, the solar roof rises several meters above the roof

surface itself, no surface area is lost because solar panels cannot be

placed on top of other obstacles or technology on the roof.

The wind is captured and accelerated by the Venturi effect: up to 8 times more wind energy

EnergyNEST is designed in such a way that it sucks in the wind that naturally comes up against a building. The Venturi effect is the wind acceleration effect due to the narrowing of the flow channel. EnergyNEST's unique design capitalizes on this Venturi effect, creating a wind tunnel on the roof. The wind sucked into the tunnel is accelerated by the Venturi effect to such an extent, that EnergyNEST generates up to 4 times more wind energy.

Two-sided solar panels and reflective surface: 20 - 30% more solar energy

The solar panels on top of an EnergyNEST are bifacial. The underside of the nest is treated with reflective paint. As a result, the solar panels generate energy from the sun from both sides, the top and underside of the two-sided panels.

EnergyNEST's frame is constructed with a new, lightweight steel construction of prefabricated, cold-rolled profiles. This results in the following:

  • EnergyNEST now comes as a prefabricated construction kit, installation is 2 x faster.

  • There is no welding involved.

  • The frame's material is corrosion-resistant, requiring virtually no maintenance.
